Economic Development
The City of West offers a streamlined process for business development, attractive incentives, and a commitment to fostering partnerships that drive growth. From thriving agriculture to cutting-edge technology sectors, West Texas is not just a place to work, but a community where businesses can flourish and contribute to a prosperous future.
Workforce

Many times the difference between a successful business and one that lags behind is finding and employing a Skilled Workforce. Our local and state governments are committed to building the Texas economy and understand that the best way to do that is to support the employers who keep Texans working! Texas remains a right-to- work state with no personal or corporate income tax. Texas also invests in training the workforce so that Texans continue to have the skills necessary to compete in a global economy.

With excellent access to multiple US and State Highways, West’s labor force extends beyond a 30-mile radius. West employers have been successful in satisfying their workforce needs across a diverse industry base that includes manufacturing, distribution, customer service, administration, and miscellaneous services. The 30-mile radius represents over 90,000 skilled workers. McLennan County offers quality of living and a central location in Texas, so it is highly attractive to potential employees and a factor in retaining your key personnel.
